• Site reliability Engineer - met two of the most awesome managers i have ever known.

• Required six interviews - I don't know how I made it but I did

• Working on all major hyperscalars - Azure, AWS and GCP

• Shift work - Sun to Wednesday, 3pm to 1am and a 3 day weekend. Fully remote but I go in most Wednesdays

• It's going to be expensive for anyone to pay me enough to change jobs.

• Still don't know everything about everything but working on it.

ANSTO (Australia Nuclear Science and Technology Organization)

• The place really does employ Australia's most brilliant minds, including me

• Full access to all of infrastructure - Unix/Windows/Virtualization/Azure/Firewall logs - everyone has the ability to solve any problem by themselves if they know what they are doing. One stop shop to fix all IT issues by contacting a single person.

• I had to pinch myself to ensure I wasn't dreaming when driving in every day.

• Got nicknamed Sheldon, from the character in the big bang theory. Very honorable.

Allianz Australia (Aztec)

• Reducing the time to patch servers from an all day outage to almost fully automated out of hours at Allianz

• Being nominated for the Allianz Aspire Awards

• Improving the time to prepare servers for applications using ansible automation

• Learning about Splunk Administration and providing a stable splunk service to the business

• Nicknamed, Easy, because I made everything so easy.

JP Morgan

• Bringing the vulnerability count for Unix and Windows at APAC, JP Morgan Australia (WSS) down to zero 

• Migrating mission critical application to the M9000 in JP Morgan, Australia (eventually after a lot of failures)

Bangladesh Online Ltd:

• Creating the Dhaka Stock Exchange Website (www.dsebd.org)

• Largely responsible for introducing Bangladesh to the age of Fiber Optic Internet connectivity

• Leading the establishment of the Bangladesh internet exchange

• Largely responsible to the unprecedented success of Bangladesh Online Limited

Internet KSC (Thailand):

• Key contributor for Thailand using two letters instead of three in their domain name, e.g. .co.th instead of .com.th

Strengths:

• Over 30 years of Experience in IT, understands processes from the chair to the monitor all the way down to the compute infrastructure hardware and back. Love Unix administration work, especially automation.

• Internal visualization of processes and systems which personify as strong analytical skills. This is useful for troubleshooting problems, whether it is in the network, cloud or operating system. Also helpful to propose designs and workflows which are more efficient and require less effort. In other words, efficient at being lazy.

• Team Player and Leader; understands several English accents fluently due to a background of living in Tanzania, USA, Bangladesh and Thailand. Also able to work independently. 

• Sense of humor, enjoys work, creating automation, debugging, problem solving; atypical geek.
